Evidently, God changes his mind.  What was sold to members of the Church in November 2015 by then President of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, Elder Nelson, as a veritable revelation from God has now been officially changed.  Members who are in same sex relationships are no longer considered “apostates” and their children can be baptized before turning 18.  The unchangeable God we worship has reversed course.

According to President Nelson, the Lord has blessed us with “revelation upon revelation, knowledge upon knowledge…that which bringeth joy, that which bringeth life eternal” (D&C 42:61).  Today’s press release asserts that “We are all eyewitnesses to revelations from the Lord as He guides the affairs of His Church.”

Hogwash.

These policy changes are the works of men and women who may be trying to do their very best, but they are not revelations from the Almighty.  At the risk of sounding like a broken record:

BRING FORTH THE EXACT WORDS OF THE LORD.

That is what Joseph did.  We should expect no less from those who claim to speak for the Lord today.  The ancient prophet, Jeremiah, instructed us to ask these leaders:

“Thus shalt thou say to the prophet, What hath the Lord answered thee? and, What hath the Lord spoken?” (Jeremiah 23:37)

Is that too much to ask?  Apparently so.
